The Pittwater community has long opposed offshore gas and oil exploration and mining off our coastline.
Upon being elected to NSW Parliament, I worked with the Parliamentary Counsel's Office to draft legislation that would ban the mining of gas and oil in NSW waters. It would also prevent any pipelines or infrastructure through NSW Waters or on NSW land associated with any off shore mining activities. The Labor Government is proposing to oppose the Bill and, in so doing, support offshore mining of gas and oil. This means oil rigs off the coast of our community.
