The Pittwater community has long opposed offshore gas and oil exploration and mining off our coastline.
Upon being elected to NSW Parliament, I worked with the Parliamentary Counsel's Office to draft legislation that would ban the mining of gas and oil in NSW waters. It would also prevent any pipelines or infrastructure through NSW Waters or on NSW land associated with any off shore mining activities. The Labor Government is proposing to oppose the Bill and, in so doing, support offshore mining of gas and oil. This means oil rigs off the coast of our community.

Member for Pittwater, Rory Amon has welcomed a breakthrough in local accommodation for essential workers but says, far more needs to be done. Mr Amon said the breakthrough follows a submission he made to the draft Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) Clinical Services Plan for 2024-2029.
Member for Pittwater, Rory Amon is challenging the NSW Government over the dramatic increase in boat and personal watercraft (PWC) licence fees. Mr Amon said the proposed increases from 1 July will see boat licence fees increase by up to 30% and PWC licence fees jump by up to 88%!
